DALLAS (March 2025) — Catalyze Partners is proud to announce that its founders and managing partners, Tricia D'Cruz and Joe D'Cruz, have been named 2025 Dealmakers of the Year by the Smart Business Dealmakers Conference in Dallas.
The recognition celebrates the strategic acquisition of Axcend, LLC, a Utah-based company offering instruments for analytical chemistry, which Catalyze Partners completed in July 2024. This deal marked a significant milestone in Catalyze’s mission to invest in and accelerate high-potential technology businesses.
Following the acquisition, Catalyze provided critical investment and operational support that enabled Axcend to expand its small footprint system, providing parity with legacy, full-scale systems. With this small footprint, Axcend has strengthened its competitive position in the analytical instrumentation market, opening up new use cases in pharmaceutical, chemical, and academic research organizations, among others.
“We’re honored to be recognized alongside other top dealmakers who are creating meaningful value in the marketplace,” said Tricia D'Cruz. “The Axcend acquisition is a great example of how our hands-on investment model can help unlock a company’s full potential.”
Joe D'Cruz added, “We saw a unique opportunity to acquire a company with strong fundamentals and untapped potential. By accelerating investment and expanding Axcend’s capabilities, we’ve positioned the business to better compete in a growing market. We’re excited about what’s ahead”
The Dealmakers of the Year awards celebrate leaders who have made outstanding contributions to the M&A and growth capital ecosystem. The 2025 honorees will be featured during the Smart Business Dealmakers Conference on March 27 in Dallas. More information on the event can be found at smartbusinessdealmakers.com/dallas.
